About Amber Reflexology

Thank you for visiting Amber Reflexology. My name is Amber Sanderson and I have been practicing reflexology for over 16 years, but my fascination with the subject goes back much further. Way back in the mid-nineties during our school’s careers’ day, I found myself drawn to a small group of ladies that had converted one of the home economics classrooms into something magical and mysterious. Emanating from the room were not the odours of the morning’s attempts at cookery, rather, the sweet smells of lavender, rose and frankincense. Curious to know what it was all about, I popped my head through the door when I was invited to try a reflexology taster treatment. This was the first I’d heard of reflexology, but the reclining chair looked so inviting and it seemed far more interesting than the more business-like lectures and workshops that were lined up for us that afternoon. Having my feet massaged in the middle of the school day was not exactly what I expected from the day, but the effect it had upon me was so profound, I can still vividly recall the calm, serene and floaty feelings I experienced that day.
Reflexology had been in the back of my mind ever since, but it wasn’t until I was at home with two small children that I considered it as a career choice. One of my first case studies whilst I was training was my mum, she had been suffering with moderate joint pain due to an old injury, and we were both astounded by the results a course of treatments gave, so this encouraged me further to pursue a career that would help people achieve their wellness goals whilst also fitting around family life.
More recently, I have added facial reflexology to my repertoire, which provides all the benefits of foot reflexology, but with the added benefits are skin that looks feels firmer and looks more radiant and glowing.
I provided exclusively mobile reflexology treatments initially, but since moving to Blaxton near Doncaster I am able to work from my home treatment room.
My treatment room is cozy and tranquil, and I am a conveniently located in Blaxton near Doncaster, serving the Doncaster and wider South Yorkshire / Isle of Axholme area. I offer Reflexology, Reiki and Indian Head Massage treatments from my home treatment room in the village of Blaxton near Doncaster.

Reflexology

I qualified as a Reflexologist in 2007 with the Northern School of Reflexology in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, where I gained a level 3 diploma.

I am fully insured and a member of the Association of Reflexologists, enabling me to use the letters MAR after my name. Therapists who have trained with an AoR approved school will have completed over 300 hours of learning, and carried out a minimum of 100 treatments during training and are required to continue their training to remain a member. I work to the AoR’s code of conduct and ethics.
The qualification I hold is recognised by the NHS and many health care providers and insurers, such as Westfield, Bupa, Medicash and Health Shield.

During the 12 years I have been practising Reflexology, I have helped countless people with stress, anxiety, sleep disorders and wellbeing, as well as providing support for people living with illness.
The aim of Reflexology is to treat and support the person as a whole and is intended to work alongside allopathic healthcare.

In my spare time, I provide Reflexology and Reiki treatments for Team Verrico, a local cancer charity.
Team Verrico's mission is to fund cutting edge research, to protect the physical and mental health of cancer patients and their families, and to educate by raising awareness of the disease.

More recently, during lockdown, I did some advanced training and studied Facial Reflexology and Maternity Reflexology. Please see my information on different treatments for more information.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The meaning of 'Rei' is universal, and 'Ki' means life energy, therefore reiki means 'Universal energy'.

After practicing Reiki for several years, I became qualified as a Reiki Master in 2017, and am now happy to offer both Reiki treatments and training.

Indian Head Massage

In 2017, I gained my diploma qualification with the London Centre of Indian Champissage.
Indian Head Massage is a relaxing holistic treatment that uses acupressure massage on the head, face, neck and shoulders. It aims to relax the body and mind, and rebalance the body's energies.
